Jesse Kramer

Building networks,
one hop at a time.

I'm Jesse, 25 years old and a Network & IT professional based in the Netherlands. IT has been part of my life long before it became my career. At 8 years old I was already taking apart PC components out of pure curiosity, and by 14 I was experimenting with my own servers at home. My dad sparked that interest early — he was always hands-on with computers and saw the potential in me. These days the roles are reversed, and I'm the one helping him set things up.

One of my proudest personal projects: I built my dad a full Linux-powered home IoT hub — a single dashboard where he can stream the latest movies (with Dutch subtitles, of course), control his smart lights, and keep an eye on everything happening in his apartment. That project is what really deepened my love for Linux — I run it on everything at home and learn something new from the CLI every day.

Professionally, I've been working in IT since 2022 — progressing through internships into full-time roles across aviation, energy, and managed services. I'm currently on my CCNA journey to grow from IT support into a full Network Engineer.

Where I've worked

Nov 2025 — Present · Part-time

On-Site Support Engineer

dnata · Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

dnata is one of the world's largest aviation services providers, operating a state-of-the-art $224M automated cargo facility at Schiphol. As On-Site Support Engineer, I keep the IT infrastructure running across a fast-paced, mission-critical airport environment. I'm currently leading the Windows 10 → Windows 11 rollout across warehouse workstations — coordinating the migration, resolving compatibility issues, and ensuring zero downtime in daily cargo operations. Beyond the rollout, I handle all hardware and peripheral issues throughout the warehouse: diagnosing, repairing, and replacing desktops, scanners, label printers, and other critical devices that the ground operations team depends on every day.

IT Consultant

JACK. IT · Vianen, Utrecht · Hybrid

Working as an IT Consultant at JACK. IT — a role that fits perfectly around my schedule. Since I work part-time at dnata, I have my Mondays free along with the weekends, and that's the time I dedicate to studying for my Cisco CCNA. This role is a stepping stone to grow from on-site IT support into a full network engineering position.

System Administrator

Sceptr · Utrecht · Hybrid

Sceptr is a Dutch network performance and security monitoring company, specialising in real-time flow data analysis, anomaly detection, and network visibility for enterprise clients. As System Administrator, I was responsible for the full administration of Sceptr's NetX server fleet — keeping systems updated, patched, and performing optimally.

My standout project was leading the migration from the legacy OSSEC intrusion detection system to Wazuh — a modern open-source XDR and SIEM platform. I architected the migration plan, deployed and configured the Wazuh manager and agents, integrated custom detection rules and decoders, and built out threat monitoring dashboards. Wazuh's unified log analysis, file integrity monitoring, and active response capabilities gave Sceptr a dramatically improved security posture compared to the aging OSSEC setup.
